From the time you have children your whole world changes. Questioning yourself, why you do what you do, and the decisions you make takes on a completely new meaning. Mommy guilt doesn’t take long to creep in, and soon you start to doubt yourself A LOT! Don’t worry; you are not going crazy, this is completely normal!
- Have they eaten enough?
- Did I burp them long enough?
- Are they too hot/too cold?
And the lists of doubts in your head can seem to go on and on.
Throw in a huge lack of sleep, and possibly baby blues and you have a recipe for confidence disaster.
The question is what can you do about it?
You can’t change the sleep issues, well at least not right away, and those hormone adjustments feel pretty much out of your control.
What you can do: Be Kind to Yourself!
Whether you know it or not in the moment of doubt, you deserve it! You have been through so much. Your world has turned upside down, and that is if you are still on the same planet all together. If giving yourself a break emotionally feels out of reach with all you have spinning around inside, know it not only benefits you, it benefits baby.
Cutting down on stress as much as you can means creating a more peaceful environment for both you and baby. As parents many of us feel achieving a peaceful, loving environment for our children is very important. This does not mean that the stress isn’t going to get you down sometimes, because it happens to all of us. However, the sooner you allow yourself love and forgiveness for not having all the answers, the more enjoyable you’ll find this exciting stage of your life.
Don’t beat yourself up inside. Realize when your mind is circling around the same doubts, worries, and unanswered questions, you are not alone. There are so many of us Moms and parents out there supporting you, and our hearts are with you.
Turn Mommy guilt into Mommy growth and allow yourself that learning curve. Not knowing everything, and frequent re-evaluation of what works best for you and your child makes you real, and you deserve a ton of love too, especially from you!
Here’s to YOU!

I have a colorful soul, with many aspects that need to be nourished. Some more than others at times. This is my creative outlet. I hope in some way it can create happiness for you too.
Married to my soul mate, and having the honor of being the mother of two beautiful souls, one boy, and one girl. They are the core of the happiness I have created. I believe that in nourishing one part of your soul, the benefits in turn bleed into the others creating a more balanced, joyful life.
By nourishing my creative side, I believe it will make me a better wife, mother, and person in general. I hope my blog can help you find your way of doing that too, to live the best life for you.
